It was two years ago in Montevideo, when we got into game development. Turns out, it’s a lot of fun. We made the awesome Hitchhiking Game, where you have to hitchhike around the world. We also made the memory game Memoclick for a client (German website with catchy tune, you have been warned).

Pretty much from the beginning, we knew we want to make a digital nomad game one day. This day is today, and we’ve officially started the development.

You start in a corporate job in an expensive city. Slowly but steady, you are learning different skills that will eventually allow you to quit your job and explore the world. The choice is yours. You can learn coding and work as a freelancer, start your own niche websites or become a travel blogger.

Work on your skills and make it our of your boring job.

We want to make it fun, but also a little educational about the possibilities to make it work as a digital nomad.

In later versions, it will also be possible to collaborate with other players. You are a good designer, but know nothing about code? Start a joint venture website with a coder. Or just let other people work for you as freelancers.

But don’t forget to keep an eye on your needs. You are working all day at your computer and just eating fast food? That won’t be too great for your health. Never leaving your Airbnb? Your social needs will suffer.

Don’t overdo it with the snacking.

It’s still a lot of work, but we plan to invite the first testers around the end of the year. If you want to be kept up to date about the game and be among the first people to receive an invite for the beta test, leave your email here or join our Facebook group.

We would love to hear your thoughts. Does this sound like fun? What else would you like to see in a game like that?
